We’re looking at goal setting. And it’s something we could all be coached on from time to time. Have you ever set yourself a new-year’s resolution, but never really followed through? Ever wondered why? People often confuse goals for dreams, wishes or wants. “I want to lose weight”, or “I want a better job!” Goals are not wants! Wanting something is not the same as having a goal. A want only becomes a goal when we have a plan, and a plan will never be more than a plan unless we take action. Everything we desire starts out as a want, but only with a plan does it become a goal and only with action will it become a reality. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail and if we don’t take action, we will never achieve our goals. Let's walk through a coaching session on effective goal setting.
